Advise a new high-net-worth client in our Private Bank with HSBC.
Welcome to our programme. We’re so excited to have you here. Our Global Private Banking function (which forms part of our Wealth and Personal Banking business) meets the wealth management needs of ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth customers. We help them manage, protect, and grow their wealth.
During this programme, you’ll get the opportunity to step into the shoes of a HSBC Relationship Manager (RM), working with a new high-net-worth client in our Private Bank and complete tasks that will show you the type of work they undertake every day. Relationship Managers work closely with their clients to understand their needs and provide financial solutions to meet them. They combine in-depth knowledge of the financial markets and financial products with a thorough understanding of their client. Their role is to bring the entire bank to the client, identifying the ways in which HSBC can help them.
As part of this programme, you’ll gain an insight into two key aspects of the role of a Relationship Manager; identifying and defining a client’s needs and proposing and communicating financial solutions to meet them.
At HSBC, we don’t just focus on what we do, we focus on how we do it. We have a Conduct Approach that complements our Purpose and Values – this guides us all to take responsibility to do the right thing and focus on the impact we have for our customers and the financial markets in which we operate:
We understand our customers’ needs and design, market and sell products and services that recognise their long-term interestsWe provide products and services that offer a fair exchange of value and do not undermine market competitionWe service our customers’ ongoing needs and ensure products and standards of service continue to have a positive impactWe act with integrity in the financial markets we operate inWe operate resiliently and securely to avoid harm to customers and markets
As you work through the tasks in this programme, acting within these principles will ensure you embody the expectations of a HSBC employee.
The work does not form part of an official recruitment process. It has been designed to broaden and deepen your knowledge of the role/business area and help you decide whether this is a career path you’re keen to pursue. At the end of each task, you have the opportunity to compare your work against an example answer, furthering your learning and development.
We hope this programme is a useful resource for you as you explore career options and a potential role at HSBC.
