Don’t miss the recording of our Black Entrepreneurs Panel, part of our celebration of Black History Month

As Black History Month comes to a close, we’re proud to share “Celebrating Black Entrepreneurship in Our Community,” a panel discussion hosted by Excelsior University’s Center for Social Justice and the Race & Ethnicity Rope Team.

This conversation brought together leaders and business owners to highlight the impact, challenges, and successes of Black entrepreneurship in our community—reinforcing the importance of visibility, opportunity, and continued support, and engaging us in dialogue about investing in dreams, overcoming challenges, and building community.

The panel discussion was moderated by Tamika Goode-Otis, founder and CEO of KABOD Consulting Group LLC, and panelists included Santarvis Brown, management and leadership faculty for Excelsior University’s School of Business; Marie Campell, owner and floral designer of Blooms by Marie; Starletta Smith, CEO of the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region; and Renel Turner, owner of Nelly’s Treats.
