“Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together” is a Hispanic Heritage Month 2026 community event designed to celebrate Hispanic leadership, heritage, resilience, and contributions while creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue, connection, and collaboration across the Tampa Bay community. Hosted by Excelsior University, its Center for Social Justice, and its Race & Ethnicity Rope Team, in partnership with The Green House, the Hispanic Outreach Center, and the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Center, the event will bring together civic leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, nonprofit organizations, businesses, students, and community members for a morning focused on civil discourse, leadership, entrepreneurship, education, and community engagement. Through a mayoral address, keynote presentation, networking experience, and multi-sector leadership panel, participants will explore how individuals and organizations can navigate change, break barriers, create opportunities, and prepare the next generation of leaders. Ultimately, the event seeks to continue conversations and relationships beyond Hispanic Heritage Month by inspiring participants to create new opportunities for others, overcome professional and community barriers, build innovative programs and businesses, connect different communities and sectors, advance educational and economic opportunities, demonstrate leadership during periods of change, mentor emerging leaders, build successful collaborations, and create measurable community impact.
