Black History Month Conversation - Lifting Every Voice: "I'd love to learn more about your story and perspective".
As part of our celebration of Black History Month, and as a follow up of our co-facilitation of the 2026 National Day of Racial Healing on January 20, the Excelsior University Center for Social Justice, Excelsior’s Civic Engagement and Race & Ethnicity Rope Teams, the Underground Railroad Education Center (UREC) and YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, and the St. Petersburg Florida Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) Center are thrilled to invite you to February’s session of our 2026 Democratic Engagement Dialogue Series scheduled for February 19 at 3PM.
How do we lift every story and every voice? Let’s explore together the meaning of democracy, racial healing, and ways to engage with others when we all have different experiences and perspectives. Join us for a series of conversations hosted by Excelsior’s Center for Social Justice and the Civic Engagement and Race & Ethnicity Rope Teams, in partnership with UREC, YWCA, and TRHT.
During this session, the conversation will focus on:
- Our collective exploration of the meaning and power of democracy and racial healing as a choice, way of thinking, and a lifestyle.
- Strategies to create and engage in dialogue that transcends difference, disagreement, promotes inclusion, leverages our diversity, and strengthens democracy.
- Concrete actions we could pursue to participate and promote democracy and racial healing in our daily environments.
This session will be virtual. The meeting Zoom link will be provided to you as part of your registration to the session.
We are looking forward to having you with us!
