Juneteenth Commemoration with Dr. Tim Wilson

To commemorate Juneteenth, the Center for Social Justice and the Race and Ethnicity Rope Team is honored to welcome Tim Wilson, PhD, dean of student affairs at the University of Washington Bothell, on Tuesday, June 18, at 3 p.m. ET. His talk will be held online via Zoom.

In his more than 30 years in higher education, Wilson has held a variety of professional and graduate positions in residential life, multicultural affairs, student activities, and career services.  Wilson earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from San Diego State University, a Master of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Vermont, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Missouri–Columbia.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Black Independence Day, commemorates the emancipation of Africans enslaved in the United States. This year’s theme is “Their Wildest Dreams,” which honors ancestors’ history and highlights current accomplishments.
