Rosh Hashanah marks the Beginning of the Jewish New Year.

Rosh Hashanah is a two-day holiday that marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year. The meaning of Rosh Hashanah translates as “head of the year.” It also celebrates the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection and repentance that leads to Yom Kippur, the day of atonement. The Rosh Hashanah holiday is considered one of the holiest days to commemorate the world’s creation and the sweetness of the new year. In 2024, Rosh Hashanah will begin at sunset on Wednesday, October 2, and end at sundown on Friday, October 4.
