The Center for Social Justice, Human Resources and the Gender & Sexuality Rope Team are collaborating with In Our Own Voices (IOOV) –a national nonprofit working to ensure the physical, mental, spiritual, political, cultural, and economic survival and growth of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people of color communities– for the facilitation of LGBTQIA+ Ally training. Allyship training aims to prepare employees to support, collaborate with, and advocate for people from the LGBTQIA+ community. An ally is not a person you become, it is a continuous process of learning about a range of identities and lived experiences, as well as taking courageous action to create a more equitable and inclusive environment.
Please join us either on November 7 or on November 15 from 3PM to 5PM ET as Philip A Burse from IOOV discusses how our university can proactively foster inclusive work cultures through policies, benefits, and processes. If you are an Excelsior staff or faculty member, please register in Brainier. If you are a student or an alum, please join us via Zoom.
