Yesterday, in a 6-3 vote, the Supreme Court of the United States of America ruled race-conscious admissions programs unconstitutional. This landmark decision removes the ability of admissions offices to include race as an admission factor.
Excelsior University deeply values diversity among our students, faculty and staff, in our communities, and throughout the nation. A diverse range of perspectives, experiences, ideas, and skills is essential to problem solving, innovating, creating, and thriving in classrooms, boardrooms, and all spaces between.
Now more than ever, Excelsior University remains committed to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. We firmly believe that all people have the right to pursue economic, social, educational, and professional opportunities, and we recognize that all do not have equal access to these opportunities. Historically, discrimination on the basis of race has played a very large part in access to opportunity. At Excelsior, we embrace diversity, and we champion inclusion, collective intelligence, interdisciplinary thinking, effective decision-making, performance enhancement, and community contributions from all individuals.
At Excelsior University, you matter! We see you. We hear you. You belong here.
